Vinyl Chef Cook-Off Team 2

The Vinyl Chef Cook-Off continues with Team 2 headed by the famed Green Chef . This culinary team chose Baked Pecan Apples.

When  Chef  Choco was asked how he made his recipe choice he just kept repeating, "Apple Bake, Apple Bake". His Minty assistant added that this is the only food they know how to cook.

Even with a limited recipe base we think this team has an excellent chance of claiming the title "Vinyl Chef Supremo."
Time to eat.

The wait is over.  The  Vinyl Chef Cook-Off  is under way.  All of our Chef Choco's think they are the best, but we know where the proof is!

With  Minty by his side Orange Chef Choco offered the first challenge with his attractive, delicious, and mostly healthy acorn squash stuffed with nuts, raisins, cranberries, and cherries. And sugar!

Check back as the competitors step up with their own special recipes.  The winning recipe will be posted here on the Ugly Chronicles for all to enjoy.
We will also share any recipe you see if you ask.

Searching for Choco

Green Choco, aka Xmas Choco has been on my mind a lot lately.
I'm sure you can see why.  Just look at that intelligent expression, the athletic stance.  He's an 8" giant among vinyl's.

He has me in his  tractor beam, but I can't find him!  Just spent some hours methodically dredging through 50 pages of google hits on Horvath vinyl trying to ferret him out.

I did not find him but I did find the Horvath Family Mug, a "Property of the Horvath Family" T-Shirt,  and the Horvath Family Boxer Shorts.  If I were a member of the Horvath family, I would be finely outfitted at this point.  But alas I am still without my Green Choco.
Choco, where are you?

Choco Nano Bread Recipe

Chef Choco does it again with a tasty and wholesome bread.  Next time he plans to go heavier on the tasty and lighter on the wholesome.

Choco Nano Bread Recipe

You'll need:

2 cups Bran Flakes or raison Bran Flakes
1 cup milk
2 cups Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar...Choco plans to put 1 cup sugar next time...more tasty, less wholesome
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 ripe bananas....all mashed up
1 loaf pan

Put the Bran Flakes in a bowl with the milk.  Let it sit for about 10 minutes to soften up.
Preheat the oven to 350
Mash up the three bananas with a fork until they are smooth and gooey.
Then mix in the eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, walnuts, and bananas into the bran flakes.
In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder and mix thoroughly.
Now add that flour mixture to the bran flakes mix. In other words, mix it ALL together!

Pour this Nano batter into a loaf pan.  If your pan is non-stick just pour right in.  If your pan is NOT non-stick (that would be non non- stick) then grease it first.

Bake at 350 for 54.5  to 60 minutes.  Check at 54.5 minutes to make sure it's not getting too brown. If it is...take it out.

Wait a couple of minutes then gently flip the loaf pan over while holding the top of the puffy bread with a cloth towel to keep it from breaking in half.  Then put the bread on a cookie rack to cool.  If you are not the proud owner of a cookie rack, put it on a towel to cool.  The bread will get too moist on the bottom if you cool it on a plate.  Go ahead and have a nice, hot piece with butter.

Minty Bee says to mix that butter in some honey and spread it on the bread.

Chef Choco Makes Bread

Chef Choco hasn't cooked in awhile.  But repeated chants for banana bread coupled with a cold and windy day were enough to get him back in the kitchen.

What a perfect opportunity to do something fun with his Honey Bee relatives who recently moved in.  He was extra careful not to toss in that little Minty Bee instead of a banana.

In about an hour we'll all be sampling Chef Choco's latest creation... Choco Nano Bread.  If it's good, we'll post his recipe!
