The Uglydoll Story "Stitched Together"
The Uglydoll Story. For those of you who missed the TV broadcast on CNBC, here is a video link. Thanks to our Ugly buddy Baz for the link.
For more Uglydoll fun, check out Adventures In Uglyworld!
But be warned. Too much Uglydoll fun all at once and you could end up on the ceiling, high on laughter. See the scene in Mary Poppins for a graphic example. Only with Uglydolls even the sky is not the limit!

Dr. Max's Prescription for Happiness
Dr. Max Abima here with another prescription for happiness.
Spend time with friends. Make some new ones. Appreciate the differences. Be ready for something wonderful to come from a place you never expected.
If you're red and one foot tall, celebrate it.
If you're a 6 foot and bony, celebrate it.
In general, see the best in everyone!

Sun-Min Sunday #2--Andrewshire Wedgehead
Welcome to Sun-Min Sunday #2. Today's featured Uglydoll handmade by Sun-Min is Wedgehead made for the Andrewshire Show in 2005. He is one of the nicest fellows you'd ever hope to meet.
He likes to collect marbles. When asked how many he has in his collection he said "zero". Guess what I'm shopping for this week!
Of all of David Horvath's amazing creations, Wedgehead is one of my top faves. No matter the color or size, he'll wedge his way into your heart. Count on it.
I am so grateful to the Uglydoll families who have allowed me to adopt these darlings. You know who you are!

I'm new to a great Flickr group called Ugly Monday. The group name is self-explanatory...on Monday take an Uglydoll photo and add to the group.
This is my pic for today.
Come on over to the group and have a look around. Perhaps you'll join!

Happy Birthday WAGE!!!!
Today we celebrated Wage's 10th birthday. That's right. It's been a decade since Sun-Min Kim stitched together the first darling Wage as a gift for her future husband and creative partner, David Horvath. The rest is a wonderful history of laughter and joy for Uglydoll fans and families like ours.
We had ice cream, homemade cookies, music, Uglydoll party favors and fun. All of our Uglys want to do it again next weekend. And we just might.
Sun-Min and David, if you're out there, thank you!

Uglydoll Backpack with Benefits
The Uglydoll Backpack is best friends with the Uglydoll Lunch Kit, and right now you can get the Lunch Kit FREE when you purchase the backpack from ToysRUs!
Ox Lunch Kit is also available!
These deals usually come and go quickly. Offer is good online and in their store locations.
I like this backpack. It's roomy with one large zipper compartment and one smaller zipper compartment on the bottom front. That's the black part in the pic. It has adjustable straps. Don't let the "toy store" fool you. It's a great size for adults.
The Lunck Kit is also generously proportioned. I could fit three meals in there plus a cookie!

Flyers will be Flyers
Up past midnight placing my new and highest Uglydoll shelf. Before I could climb down from the ladder, three flyers zoomed up and claimed the space.
All of my Poe's are keen for a high perch. Flyers will be Flyers!

Uglydog Gets Some Sun
We were alarmed to notice our tiny glass Uglydog was missing from his air-cushioned case. Where in the world could such a little fellow be?
We sent out an all points bulletin to our Ugly Shire and soon discovered our tiny glass Uglydog is all Uglydoll indeed. He took himself out to inspect his new digs and to get a bit of sun. We found him proudly perched atop the glowing sun and shining just as brightly.
We coaxed him inside with cookies, a sure fire way to entice any Uglydoll. We'll have to keep an eye on this little fellow.
Uglydog is part of group of six Limited Edition Hand Crafted Glass Uglydolls just released. Find one of your own right here. Or get all six. But be warned, they may be very tiny, but they are 100% full of the adventuresome Uglydoll spirit, so keep cookies handy if you need to find them.

Uglee
Uglee. A new word around the house. That's the pure state of joy that comes from having our Uglydoll family.
We're glad to be back on the Ugly Chronicles after a long, unplanned absence.
Those of you who recently looked back through old posts no doubt noticed ALL of our photo links were broken. That happened when we tried to update and organize our Flickr.
So a labor of love is under way complete with volunteers. We plan to attempt to find and restore the hundreds of missing photos over the next couple of months.
To our volunteers go the cookies! Enjoy!
In the pic: Strange Beast Bossy Bear Glee Version from Giant Robot. This fellow is extra special because he has a David Horvath tatt on his red cape! David was very kind to sign him. Thanks to GR for making it happen! Since I'm about 1200 miles from GR, I would not have this Bossy without the help of others.
If you want one of these, you can still pick one up here.

Lucky Ucky Just a Bucky
Lucky Ucky's are here and ready to slip into your pocket or bag and go along for the ride, the walk, the movie, school, or space launch. You name it, there is a Lucky Ucky just right for the job.
If you buy the complete set pictured, you get them for just over a buck each. I even "lucked" into a few of them for .79 cents at a local Part City.
About Party City. There is a special Party City exclusive green set of Lucky Ucky's you will not get in the set of 60. So if you're a collector like I am, get busy on the greens. And good luck.
Party City calls them Uglydoll Figurines, and they don't come carded, but they are in a little individual see through wrapper.
Some of them stand on their own, while others topple over. The antidote for the Lucky Ucky wobble can be something as simple as museum putty, or as creative as little Fimo stands handcrafted to fit. I'm opting for the Fimo. (Fimo is a brand name for polymer clay)
I find my Uglydolls love collecting little figures of themselves, so be prepared to share.
Here's a little history tidbit on the origin of Lucky Uckys.
"The inspiration for the Uglydoll LUCKY UCKYS came to Sun-Min and David while roaming the streets of Nakano in Tokyo, Japan as they were searching for old toys and rare collectibles. They imagined spirit guides helping them seek out the rarest hidden treasures and soon after that day, the LUCKY UCKYS were born. We hope you enjoy!"
And here is the link to buy them.
A wise person once said to grab them fast, because they won't be available for long.
Sidd tested, and Dr. Max approved! These are great!

Make Room for Uglydoll x Funko
Once again, following the Ugly Brick Road has lead me to a new experience in toys. I'd never heard of Funko, but now that Uglydoll has joined the line-up, I may have to pick up some of their other amazing pieces. Funko has a nicely endowed website with a Forum of devoted fans and collectors. Some were unaware of Uglydoll, and I was unaware of Funko, so we'll all have loads of newness to enjoy.
Cool looking window boxes make these just that much more desirable.
Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi's investigative work on the Funko site makes me suspect these will be 3.75 inches tall and somewhere between 7-12 bucks each, with possible articulation. They are part of their Pop Vinyl collection along with Micky House, V for Vendetta figure, Tinker Bell and more. Sweet!
My next investigative task is to discover a release date.

A Moment Between Friends
And it happened again tonight when Wedgehead found you could connect Halloween with Christmas using a simple plug!
These two old friends know how to live. They know how to enjoy a moment, how so share it, and how precious it is. It's all in the connections.

Uglydoll Party Supplies
Nope. We're not having a party. We ARE the party!
By the way, I may "adopt" the Uglydoll pinata, but don't even think about hitting it!
I'm getting these Ugly goodies from Party City in my local town, but you can get them online too if you don't have a Party City near you. Click here.

Ugly Party Time
But something amazing has tempted me from my loner ways. Uglydoll party supplies. Yep, they went and done it. They made something so fun, so colorful, so totally UGLY that I am unable to resist the lure to dance and make merry. I can see it now. I'll be donning my pointy Uglydoll hat and serving up cake and punch from the world's happiest plates and cups. Yes my friends will be worried about me, but they will be so deep in the Ugly they won't know what to do but endure the fun.
I never thought I'd say it, but let's party!!!
Halloween Fun
With Halloween around the corner, we're putting together some ideas for fun with costumes for our Uglys. Back in the day, early Uglydoll fans made some amazing costumes and we hope to revive and carry on the tradition.
Thanks to Serial Nerd for rekindling the fires.
So whether you sew or shop, get your creative hat on and have some Ugly fun. Share your pics with the Ugly Chronicles.
Here's a scary fellow saying Get out your Ugly Flag for Halloween.

Giant Robot Buttons UP!
Let's hear it for GIANT ROBOT webstore. Once again they ride to the rescue of this Uglydoll fan. They have all the buttons and walked me through the process of getting a complete set at 1.00 each!
Here's what you do whether you want a few or all of them.
Click here. Then when you get through the order process you'll see the comment section. Tell them there which buttons you want and they will do their BEST to get you those buttons!
They are so friendly and helpful at GR. Their cool factor is at least 1000! Aaron helped me via email, and even lowered the weight of the buttons so that the shipping cost is affordable for a tiny item like this.
If you have any special needs for your order, I highly recommend the email contact. They are prompt and go the extra mile.
Thanks to Aaron and Giant Robot I will soon be in possession of ALL the Ugly Buttons plus a few more to give friends.
