Uglee. A new word around the house. That's the pure state of joy that comes from having our Uglydoll family.
We're glad to be back on the Ugly Chronicles after a long, unplanned absence.
Those of you who recently looked back through old posts no doubt noticed ALL of our photo links were broken. That happened when we tried to update and organize our Flickr.
So a labor of love is under way complete with volunteers. We plan to attempt to find and restore the hundreds of missing photos over the next couple of months.
To our volunteers go the cookies! Enjoy!
In the pic: Strange Beast Bossy Bear Glee Version from Giant Robot. This fellow is extra special because he has a David Horvath tatt on his red cape! David was very kind to sign him. Thanks to GR for making it happen! Since I'm about 1200 miles from GR, I would not have this Bossy without the help of others.
If you want one of these, you can still pick one up here.
Welcome from the Ugly Shire!

Lucky Ucky Just a Bucky
Lucky Ucky's are here and ready to slip into your pocket or bag and go along for the ride, the walk, the movie, school, or space launch. You name it, there is a Lucky Ucky just right for the job.
If you buy the complete set pictured, you get them for just over a buck each. I even "lucked" into a few of them for .79 cents at a local Part City.
About Party City. There is a special Party City exclusive green set of Lucky Ucky's you will not get in the set of 60. So if you're a collector like I am, get busy on the greens. And good luck.
Party City calls them Uglydoll Figurines, and they don't come carded, but they are in a little individual see through wrapper.
Some of them stand on their own, while others topple over. The antidote for the Lucky Ucky wobble can be something as simple as museum putty, or as creative as little Fimo stands handcrafted to fit. I'm opting for the Fimo. (Fimo is a brand name for polymer clay)
I find my Uglydolls love collecting little figures of themselves, so be prepared to share.
Here's a little history tidbit on the origin of Lucky Uckys.
"The inspiration for the Uglydoll LUCKY UCKYS came to Sun-Min and David while roaming the streets of Nakano in Tokyo, Japan as they were searching for old toys and rare collectibles. They imagined spirit guides helping them seek out the rarest hidden treasures and soon after that day, the LUCKY UCKYS were born. We hope you enjoy!"
And here is the link to buy them.
A wise person once said to grab them fast, because they won't be available for long.
Sidd tested, and Dr. Max approved! These are great!

Make Room for Uglydoll x Funko
Once again, following the Ugly Brick Road has lead me to a new experience in toys. I'd never heard of Funko, but now that Uglydoll has joined the line-up, I may have to pick up some of their other amazing pieces. Funko has a nicely endowed website with a Forum of devoted fans and collectors. Some were unaware of Uglydoll, and I was unaware of Funko, so we'll all have loads of newness to enjoy.
Cool looking window boxes make these just that much more desirable.
Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi's investigative work on the Funko site makes me suspect these will be 3.75 inches tall and somewhere between 7-12 bucks each, with possible articulation. They are part of their Pop Vinyl collection along with Micky House, V for Vendetta figure, Tinker Bell and more. Sweet!
My next investigative task is to discover a release date.

Super Puncher in White
The first time I saw a Super Puncher was in photo of the Uglycon at Stitch in Japan. He was a transparent looking red fellow, though I've never seen one in person. Having not been able to snag one, I'm always on the lookout. Horvath x Gargamel!
Look what I just found! A white somewhat transparent looking Super Puncher! Amazingly, he's available at Super7 online store at retail. Imagine me getting something cool and collectible at retail! He was a mere 20.00 plush shipping. Ha ha, I mean plus shipping. I DO have plush on the brain.
They still have a few! Here's the link to the Puncher.
Or poke around the Gargamel website in Japan.
And the link to the Super7 store.

Veni, Vidi, Snacki
Greetings from the Uglyverse.
Uglydoll Action Figures take to the skies in the Starship Max Abima to explore faraway places, try new snacks, and meet new flavors. Here they land on Planet Uma and are greeted with what they hope is friendly enthusiasm???

Blacked Out when I saw these!
Found this dark and dangerous group on David Horvath's blog today. I nearly blacked out from the rush of sheer 1999 coolness.
Time to order another shelf. These would look outstanding next to the Taipei Toy Fair Yellow and Black Bossy group.
Quad-tastic! They remind me of superheros.
Click on the pic and look at their eyes. The eyes look to have a matte finish, and the body is glossy. Very nice!

Mint-wich
I never met an Uglydoll that didn't appreciate a good snack. Minty is no exception. This is one time he was glad Choco was not around. He did save him a candy spot from the cupcake. Now that's a true friend.
