Uglee

Uglee. A new word around the house.  That's the pure state of joy that comes from having our Uglydoll family.

We're glad to be back on the Ugly Chronicles after a long, unplanned absence.
Those of you who recently looked back through old posts no doubt noticed ALL of our photo links were broken.  That happened when we tried to update and organize our Flickr.
So a labor of love is under way complete with volunteers. We plan to attempt to find and restore the hundreds of missing photos over the next couple of months.
To our volunteers go the cookies!  Enjoy!

In the pic:  Strange Beast Bossy Bear Glee Version from Giant Robot. This fellow is extra special because he has a David Horvath tatt on his red cape!  David was very kind to sign him.  Thanks to GR for making it happen!  Since I'm about 1200 miles from GR, I would not have this Bossy without the help of others.
If you want one of these, you can still pick one up here.

Bossy Bear Kaiju

Giant Robot is one of my favorite stores.  Here's why.   Not only was I able to order one of these outstandingly desirable Bossy Bear Kaiju's online, but Giant Robot is getting it SIGNED for me.  Here I am, living half way to nowhere, unable to attend anything remotely "kaiju cool".  But Giant Robot's got my back.  I will soon have in my possession the blue version called GLEE. (Far left in photo)  Why is he so Gleeful?  Because he's getting a David Horvath tatt!  And if we're lucky, Sun-min too!

Bossy Shelves Get an Upgrade

What do collectors do when they're between adoptions?
I'm not sure!  But I'll show you what I like to do.

Upgrade and redistribute.  Dust and fuss.  Plan and adapt.

Here my den is adapting to my growing Bossy Bear and Friends collection.

The upgrade began when  Taipei Bossy Bear insisted he and his little yellow friends have their own real estate.  NO share, no way.

So off I went to purchase a nice looking but cheaply made and budget priced  set of shelves.  You can see Yellow Bossy and friends on their new dedicated Taipei shelf.

Arranging and experimenting with placement gives me hours of enjoyment.  It's meditative and more fun than TV.
I'm glad you can't see the many extra holes in the wall from failed attempts to mount the shelves. (I hope!)

Tomorrow we'll put up the last two little shelves from the set.  I hope to fill them with a couple of Crocadoca's I'm still searching for.  Nothing beats Ugly for a solid good time.

If you have an open spot on your shelves, keep and eye out for Roller the Reindeer coming out almost now!

Bossy Bear Holiday 2009

Bossy Bear knows how to get in the spirit. This year he's gone red, and he's gone green in this special vinyl edition. I would try to decide which one I want, but I'll save myself the trouble and get both. Mine all Mine.

Crocadoca and Turtle Vinyl's are HERE.

Well, not here on my blog. There are HERE, at Yoyamart.

Crocadoca is the newest release in the David Horvath line-up of vinyl greatness. This guy stands a full 5 inches tall, and sports a stylist blue fedora.

He joins Turtle who is also available at Yoyamart. Also availabe at Vinyl Fallout. These two jolly fellows are part of the Bossy Bear crew, who come to life in David Horvath's books.
You don't NEED the books to thoroughly enjoy these vinyl toys. However, who wouldn't love a Bossy Bear book? I love mine.

One of the many fun things about the new vinyl's from Uglydoll is their price. Turtle, Crocadoca, and Bossy Bear come in at around 14.00-16.00 each. The new Uglydoll Action Figures Series 1 are even more affordable at about 8.00 each. For those of us who have paid WAY more than this for Uglydoll vinyl, this sends the needle on the Satisfaction Meter up near the top.

These guys are so cool. The colors are vivid, the vinyl is top notch. I love the shape and feel. Enough cannot be said about those white teeth. They guarantee to encouraging smiles and laughter.

And if you know Bossy Bear, you know why I cannot post this blog entry without including his picture. So here you go Bossy Bear. Post it. Do it NOW! Ok.

At this time of this blog entry, Yoyamart is out of stock on Bossy Bear, however, he can still be had from Newbury Comics. And what a sweet price of around 10 bucks. Grab em while you can. Uglydoll vinyl merchandise has a knack for selling out. And you won't want to be without this trio of vinyl bliss.

It's Fun, It's Free, It's Folding Bossy Bear

Fun Fun Fun

I just found this cool Folding Paper Art on Uglyblog. If you click here and click the pic you can download this Bossy Bear folding art project. Plus, Shin Tanaka has other wonderful creations to download and fold.
Be sure to poke around on Shin Tanaka's website to see his amazing creations. Paper Art is so appealing and interesting. This is new to me. Hey, maybe I found something to collect in addition to Uglydolls.

I mean, just look at THIS! Who could resist? Not me.

A special Thank You to David Horvath for the introduction to Shin Tanaka's art.
