Giant Robot Delivers

When Giant Robot teams up with Uglydoll, they deliver 10 pounds of fun in a 2 pound box.

Though this group arrived together, they quickly spread out and disappeared across the Ugly Shire.  They are a busy lot, and will keep us on our toes.

I'm forming a tracking party today, and supplying them with cookies and cameras.  When we find these guys, we'll report back.

Crocus Dreams

Little Poe is an Uglydoll that likes the outdoors, but here in the moist and chilly northwest, he enjoys an indoor perch in the winter.

When I found him pumping his extended wings,  I knew something was up.

"The crocus are sprouting," he exclaimed in that voice only Poe can do.

Though the weather is still cold and wet,  this Poe has crocus dreams, soon to come true.  Wippy may just join him this year.  I know I will!

Ox OXOX Valentine

Fea Bea doesn't share her wagon with just anyone.  But the charms of Ox worked their magic on her.  Just imagine having the charm and good looks of Ox.  Hey!  You can!

Found a couple on Amazon, but with magnetism like his, they won't last long.

Best Friends Valentine

Fea Bea likes hanging around with these two Best Friends from Uglydoll.  Wedgehead and Ox have been best friends for years and they know how to represent you on Valentine's Day.

A piece of candy is sweet in the moment.  The sweet on these two never fades.

Yes!  You get both of them holding half of the Best Friends heart.

Cute factor: 10+
Price:  Cheaper than chocolates.
Happy memory factor: 10++

You can get them from the Uglydoll Store, or maybe your local toy store.

Gratitude, New Years, and Maxxy Cyrus

Of all the things in the world I could have fallen in love with, I am SO grateful it was Uglydolls. It could have been anything from exotic wines to figure skating. Wine makes me ill, and if you saw me, you'd know what a cruel joke a desire to figure skate would have been.

But it was sweetly and blessedly Uglydolls.  Not a day goes by that my life is not filled with their antics, their laughter, and adventures. And when we're having a day off the fun, other members of the Uglydoll community are right there with a quick photo or kind word.

When I look back at the day before I met my first Uglydoll I am aware of the absence of color, the flat dimensions my house had before they took over every wall, nook, and chair and I'm grateful.

Dr. Max Abima is grateful too.  He's grateful to Miley Cyrus the for inspiration to try something new.  And he's grateful of Sun-min Kim and David Horvath for stuffing him with the  courage to be defined only by himself and  his limitless dreams. For the courage to be UGLY!!!

Happy New Year Uglyverse!!!!

Sun-Min Sunday #3--Spiderboom Circus Punk

I have two favorite Circus Punks.  Sun-Min's Spiderboom is one of those two.
This one is number 107 of 150.  Check out the website of the company that produced them,  Circus Punks. Be ready for eye-popping color and mind-bending designs.

For more fun, explore Circus Punks on ebay and have and look at some of the vintage offerings.  Circus Punks were also called Knock Down Dolls and populated the stalls at circuses, fairs, carnivals.  Visitors would throw balls at them to knock them down and win a prize.  Now the prize is the Circus Punk itself!

Sun-Min Kim and David Horvath have taken their designs and melded them with other traditions from the past.  Circus Punks is just one of those great pairings.

Sun-Min Sunday #2--Andrewshire Wedgehead

Welcome to Sun-Min Sunday #2.  Today's featured Uglydoll handmade by Sun-Min  is Wedgehead made for the Andrewshire Show in 2005. He is one of the nicest fellows you'd ever hope to meet.

He likes to collect marbles.  When asked how many he has in his collection he said "zero".  Guess what I'm shopping for this week!

Of all of David Horvath's amazing creations, Wedgehead is one of my top faves.  No matter the color or size, he'll wedge his way into your heart.  Count on it.

I am so grateful to the Uglydoll families who have allowed me to adopt these darlings. You know who you are!

Uglydoll Backpack with Benefits

The Uglydoll Backpack is best friends with the Uglydoll Lunch Kit, and right now you can get the Lunch Kit FREE when you purchase the backpack from ToysRUs!

Ox Lunch Kit is also available!

These deals usually come and go quickly. Offer is good online and in their store locations.

I like this backpack.  It's roomy with one large zipper compartment and one smaller zipper compartment on the bottom front.  That's the black part in the pic.  It has adjustable straps.  Don't let the "toy store" fool you.  It's a great size for adults.
The Lunck Kit is also generously proportioned. I could fit three meals in there plus a cookie!

Uglybuddies

You want the good news first. I can tell.
That's perfect because with Uglydolls the news is ALWAYS good!

I just ordered three Uglybuddies. It was a tough choice but I went with Wedgehead, Wage and Babo  (with their Buddies of course).

These guys are about 9" tall and their Ugly Buddies are about 4".  The little Buddies have a cozy pouch to travel in, but I'm sure you could tuck a little something extra in there with him, like a special note, or Ugly savings cash.

Word around the Uglyverse is that these represent the first Uglydoll plush made in their new partnership with GUND who will manufacture  the plush Uglys in the future. (if you can call the birth of an Uglydoll "manufacture").  Don't be afraid.  This is also good news!  The co-creator, David and Sun-min still have the power! So all is well.
I've also heard these Uglybuddies still have the old Uglydoll tag, rather than the upcoming Gund tag.  So my collector heart must have them prior to the new tag.  Three down, three to go.

There is so much going on with Uglydoll these days my head is in a spin. But I will blog it soon!
They say blogs are a thing of the past.  I say, who cares.  I love doing it. So I'm doin it!
Grab you some Uglybuddies here. Just 20.00! That's only 14.77 for the larger Ugly and 5.23 for the buddie in his pouch.

The Bright Side

A few months ago, all of our Ugly Chronicles photo links broke while we were trying to reorganize Flickr. To replace the links to four years of Ugly posts is a time-consuming and daunting task.

HOWEVER....as with all things Ugly...there is a bright side.  It turns out to be an journey back in time as I read old posts, then search through hundreds  of photographs and locate a matching pic.

My heart is warm with old memories.  I relive the excitement of a new release from Uglydolls past.

At first I did not see the Ugly Time Machine waiting there to transport me.  But I'm on board now. Present meets Past meets Present. It's an Ugly ride!

Prescription for Happiness #5 by Dr. Max Abima

Dr. Max last wrote a Prescription for Happiness in March.  He's been so busy being happy, he just remembered to add #5 today.

Here it is....ready?....Get your Ugly on!
You are a  tinsy insy microscopic blip on the edge of the unfathomably huge universe, and that's ok because you are the center of your own Uglyverse and magnificent.  There will  never be another you.  So do your own, unique Ugly dance, like Dr. Max.  Happy is as happy does, so do HAPPY!

Searching for Choco

Green Choco, aka Xmas Choco has been on my mind a lot lately.
I'm sure you can see why.  Just look at that intelligent expression, the athletic stance.  He's an 8" giant among vinyl's.

He has me in his  tractor beam, but I can't find him!  Just spent some hours methodically dredging through 50 pages of google hits on Horvath vinyl trying to ferret him out.

I did not find him but I did find the Horvath Family Mug, a "Property of the Horvath Family" T-Shirt,  and the Horvath Family Boxer Shorts.  If I were a member of the Horvath family, I would be finely outfitted at this point.  But alas I am still without my Green Choco.
Choco, where are you?

More Uses for Uglydoll Lunch Box

A favorite Ugly buddy of mine made some additional and excellent suggestions for Ugly Lunch Boxes.
WagesDetectiveAgency wrote:
Want to hear more uses for Ugly lunchboxes? Cookie box was my favorite idea of yours.

* Nighttime - put it next to your bed with some relaxing things in it like a pillow stuffed with chamomile, nightly medicine if you take any
* Art box - put in your favorite drawing pencils, etc.
* Jewelry box
* Hair accessories
* Toy box
* Make-up box
* Garden seeds
* Keep your music in it
* Recipe box
It's so fun to inspire each other. Now Mr. Horvath can make us many more versions of the Uglydoll box, hee hee.
====================================
Thank you, WagesDetectiveAgency for this great list of suggestions. An art box! Fabulous.
Hey everyone. If you also have a good idea, send it along and I'll post it!

Second Update: Ice Bat suggested use: Action Figure Holder. See comments section for more! Thanks Ice Bat.

Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi Hit the Road

Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi have packed their bags and hit the road. We are in a flurry preparing for their arrival. These two adventurous Uglydolls will have some stories to tell, and our Uglies are always excited to hear a good tale. Mr. and Mrs. are bound to have plenty. Rumor has it they've seen a UFO. Maybe they've even been invited aboard??? We can hope.

Two of the stores I've checked have them in stock, ShopRockCandy and Uglydoll Super Store. They both offer free shipping along with some others tempting perks for your patronage.

ShopRockCandy offers free shipping using coupon code UGLY at checkout. If you purchase over 50.00, and easy feat when talking Uglydolls, you get a FREE Little Uglydoll. If you have a preference of which Little Ugly, and who doesn't, just specify the one you want in the Comments section of the order. If they have that Ugly in stock, it's YOURS. Whoo hoo hoo!

Uglydoll Super Store gives you free shipping on any Uglydoll item, a FREE Little Uglydoll for a purchase over 50.00, PLUS they give you Ugly Bucks for every Ugly dollar spent. You can save up your Ugly Bucks for free merchandise.

Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi come in four sizes and price ranges, Clip-on Keychain, Little Ugly, Classic Size, and 2 Foot Ugly. There's something there for every taste and budget.

I've order from both stores. They've been dependable, fast and friendly.

This is what David Horvath has shared about Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi:

"Mrs. Kasoogi is the boss in the family. She makes sure things run without snags and she keeps Mr. Kasoogi out of the cookie jar. That way there's more for her! Mrs. Kasoogi demands respect and attention. Attention to details! Small details such as where to find burried treasure, paranormal evidence, the secret of life, the secret to your best recipes, and the secret to finding enough time in the day to get things done. Things like naps."

"Mr. Kasoogi is a treasure hunter. He's had a lot of practice hunting for smaller items like candy, donuts, and even fruit. Now he's ready to take on the big challenges...But he needs a partner. Someone he can trust. Or maybe someone like you. Are you up for it? Will you be there when Mrs. Kasoogi turns the kitchen lights on and you're caught with your hand in the cookie jar? Yes? Good! You take the blame! Mr. Kasoogi doesn't mess with Mrs. Kasoogi."

Crocadoca and Turtle Vinyl's are HERE.

Well, not here on my blog. There are HERE, at Yoyamart.

Crocadoca is the newest release in the David Horvath line-up of vinyl greatness. This guy stands a full 5 inches tall, and sports a stylist blue fedora.

He joins Turtle who is also available at Yoyamart. Also availabe at Vinyl Fallout. These two jolly fellows are part of the Bossy Bear crew, who come to life in David Horvath's books.
You don't NEED the books to thoroughly enjoy these vinyl toys. However, who wouldn't love a Bossy Bear book? I love mine.

One of the many fun things about the new vinyl's from Uglydoll is their price. Turtle, Crocadoca, and Bossy Bear come in at around 14.00-16.00 each. The new Uglydoll Action Figures Series 1 are even more affordable at about 8.00 each. For those of us who have paid WAY more than this for Uglydoll vinyl, this sends the needle on the Satisfaction Meter up near the top.

These guys are so cool. The colors are vivid, the vinyl is top notch. I love the shape and feel. Enough cannot be said about those white teeth. They guarantee to encouraging smiles and laughter.

And if you know Bossy Bear, you know why I cannot post this blog entry without including his picture. So here you go Bossy Bear. Post it. Do it NOW! Ok.

At this time of this blog entry, Yoyamart is out of stock on Bossy Bear, however, he can still be had from Newbury Comics. And what a sweet price of around 10 bucks. Grab em while you can. Uglydoll vinyl merchandise has a knack for selling out. And you won't want to be without this trio of vinyl bliss.

Mrs. Kasoogi and Me

Discovery of the 2009 Uglydoll Catalog on the Uglydolls site had me pacing the floor with excitement yesterday. I could not sit down to write, but instead tossed the description of Mrs. Kasoogi into the mulling spices of my mind to see what would brew.

Mrs. Kasoogi is an Uglydoll with true paranormal interests and experiences who can understand my passion for such things. Already I'm planning to show her around some of my favorite Internet spots of aliens, ghosts, worms in space, UFOs, and other phenomena.

Short list of sites I think Mrs. Kasoogi will enjoy:

UFO Worm in Sky
The best view starts at about 1 min into the video.

More Worms in Space
This was put together from photos taken by a member of Slooh.com, a group of user-controlled remote telescopes in Chile, Australia, and Canary Islands. (Yep, that means you enjoy it from home) Go here to enjoy the discussion relating to this video.

And what's with the Big Hole on Mars!

It is also said she "enjoys details, such as where to find buried treasure and the secrets to life". Well, I don't know if a metal detector can find the secrets to life. We will try. However, the buried treasure is a definite maybe. She's coming in Spring of this year. That gives me just enough time to research metal detectors to find which machine combines powerful searching technology in a light-weight frame. Then together, Mrs. Kasoogi and I will strike out to discover what lies just beneath the surface. Waiting.

Note: Mrs. Kasoogi is scheduled to be released in Spring 2009. Her item number is 71341. Where to get her? Check here.
