Vinyl Chef Cook-Off Team 2

The Vinyl Chef Cook-Off continues with Team 2 headed by the famed Green Chef . This culinary team chose Baked Pecan Apples.

When  Chef  Choco was asked how he made his recipe choice he just kept repeating, "Apple Bake, Apple Bake". His Minty assistant added that this is the only food they know how to cook.

Even with a limited recipe base we think this team has an excellent chance of claiming the title "Vinyl Chef Supremo."
Time to eat.

Vinyl Chef Cook-Off

The wait is over.  The  Vinyl Chef Cook-Off  is under way.  All of our Chef Choco's think they are the best, but we know where the proof is!

With  Minty by his side Orange Chef Choco offered the first challenge with his attractive, delicious, and mostly healthy acorn squash stuffed with nuts, raisins, cranberries, and cherries. And sugar!

Check back as the competitors step up with their own special recipes.  The winning recipe will be posted here on the Ugly Chronicles for all to enjoy.
We will also share any recipe you see if you ask.

Garden Wage

Early in the morning Garden Wage can often be found shuffling around the plants with is water can in hand.  He talks with the flowers and always knows exactly what they need.

What's better than a green thumb?  An ORANGE thumb!  And Wage has two of those.

New Uglydolls Blowin My Socks Off

Look on the back of the box! It's the new 2010 Uglydoll Action Figures. We have Uglydog, Uglworm, Poe, Big Toe, Trunko, and Peaco. I'm dizzy just thinking about. I was keeping my fingers crossed for Uglyworm, and boy did that pay off. I highly recommend finger-crossing for the big things in life.

That's not all the Ugly news for today. But I'll let this awesomeness rest on your mind a little while, and soon be back with more.

Each of the 6 figures comes in 2 colors, no repeaters. Oh, and they are still a whopping 3 inches tall. Plus they come in those totally adorable and collectible window boxes. Reminds me of the larger Critterbox Uglydolls of days gone bye!

The Vinyl Four

The Vinyl Four are ready for action. Wage and Ox teamed up with a pair of Uglydogs to form V4, a team of crime fighting Super Heros. Well, they don't so much fight crime. But rather they fill the space around with so much light and laughter that only good things happen. That's pretty super.

Wage and Ox are from the Uglydoll Action Figure Set, Series One. Get them here.
The Uglydogs were produced by Critterbox. They are out of production.
All four are creations of David Horvath.

Crocadoca and Turtle Vinyl's are HERE.

Well, not here on my blog. There are HERE, at Yoyamart.

Crocadoca is the newest release in the David Horvath line-up of vinyl greatness. This guy stands a full 5 inches tall, and sports a stylist blue fedora.

He joins Turtle who is also available at Yoyamart. Also availabe at Vinyl Fallout. These two jolly fellows are part of the Bossy Bear crew, who come to life in David Horvath's books.
You don't NEED the books to thoroughly enjoy these vinyl toys. However, who wouldn't love a Bossy Bear book? I love mine.

One of the many fun things about the new vinyl's from Uglydoll is their price. Turtle, Crocadoca, and Bossy Bear come in at around 14.00-16.00 each. The new Uglydoll Action Figures Series 1 are even more affordable at about 8.00 each. For those of us who have paid WAY more than this for Uglydoll vinyl, this sends the needle on the Satisfaction Meter up near the top.

These guys are so cool. The colors are vivid, the vinyl is top notch. I love the shape and feel. Enough cannot be said about those white teeth. They guarantee to encouraging smiles and laughter.

And if you know Bossy Bear, you know why I cannot post this blog entry without including his picture. So here you go Bossy Bear. Post it. Do it NOW! Ok.

At this time of this blog entry, Yoyamart is out of stock on Bossy Bear, however, he can still be had from Newbury Comics. And what a sweet price of around 10 bucks. Grab em while you can. Uglydoll vinyl merchandise has a knack for selling out. And you won't want to be without this trio of vinyl bliss.

Red Tooth Wedghead is in the building.

Red Tooth Wedgehead Action Figure has arrived. First rate action figure from his twisty waist, to his bright red teeth. The finish and color on these new Uglydoll Mini Vinyl's is perfecto. The colors are bright without being harsh. Their little arms are also adjustable. This 3 inches of vinyl is packing a full 6 inches of fun or more. They are badder than toys twice their height.
Anticipation can be a slippery slope. You wait, you count the days till release. Maybe you go out and shop for display shelving. After all that waiting, wondering, hoping, imagining, the new release could be blah.
But not with Uglydoll! Nope. These people are the antidote to blah, the Anti-Blah. Everything touched by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim is endowed with something that begins inside them, and seeps into the pours of their creations. It's part imagination, part fun, a big helping of love, and a dollup of the indescribable.
I mean, look at this picture of Red Tooth. What could be better? Did I mention not only does he stand on his head, but OTHER things can stand on his head as well? Wowzer.
Pic was snapped with my cell phone, but you get the idea.
Want an action figure? I'm sure you do! Here's a link.
Have your own Action Figure? Tell us what you LOVE about it.
These come in Blind Boxes, so you have the added fun of not knowing which of the 12 Uglies you'll get. It's a surprise in every box. Or, you can buy an entire case and have one of each.
(Note that Red Tooth is only in one out of ever four cases, so he can be a little hard to get a hold of. However, the regular Wedgehead's that come in each case are beyond excellent. They just have white teeth.)

Red Tooth Wedgehead VINYL

I am SO psyched. Just saw on Uglyblog that my beloved Red Tooth Wedgehead is being immortalized in VINYL.

David Horvath mentions in his blog that great time and care was taken to insure that the blue of the body matched the blue of the arms. The Uglydoll company always comes through with a top quality, safe, and amazing product.

The release is just around the corner at New York Comic-con. Since I can't travel to New York, I will start early to develop a strategy to get one of these beauties. I'd like to avoid paying flipper prices on ePay, but that may be my only recourse. Have any suggestions on how to get one straight from Comic-con?

My Red Tooth Wedge wanted me to post his picture too, so you can see the amazing resemblence to his Action Figure. They nailed it, didn't they!

The creative genius of David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim rolls on and on.

With the exception of the Uglydogs, I have a set of the Critterbox release of Uglydolls first Vinyls, and they are top notch. I am so looking forward to the next generation of action figures from Uglydoll.
My impression is that the upcoming action figures will be slightly smaller than the Critterbox Vinyls, and will move at waist, rather than at the neck.

Below I've included a pic of the older Critterbox version of Vinyl Wedgehead standing next to a snack bag of Cheetos, Little Ice Bat, and Little Tray. It's a good size comparison. Wedge is wearing his neck warmer because he is out on a visit to a friends office.

For those of you who are now saying, hey, there is ALREADY a Vinyl Wedge, so what's the big deal, I have two words. Red Tooth!

Note: The Critterbox Vinyls are no longer in production.
