Be Prepared

Curiosity got the best of me when I found our Malcolm Wage outside, a serious look on his face, and standing in a large rubber shoe.  When asked he was very forthcoming. Malcolm kept saying "teens are coming, teens are coming".  I soon figured he did not mean an onslaught of young friends, but rather that it is getting cold.
As our Safety Officer it is his responsibility to keep us prepared for any and all situations. His weather radio told him we are a weekend away from unusually cold weather for our area.   Sixteen degrees!

That explains his outdoor inspection of the house, and list of To Do items:  Hose bibs, extra snacks, weather stripping, batteries, thermal clothing, extra snacks, mulch plants, buy rock salt, extra snacks, etc.

With his money pouch in hand, he and I are off to buy supplies.  I'm sure we'll make some new friends while we're out there.  Wage is an ambassador wherever he goes.  And everyone walks away just a bit more prepared than when they met him.

When Your Best Friend's A Pillow

When your best friends a pillow, life get's a little more interesting.  Some people do a double-take, others may stare, or giggle.  And there are those who just smile sweetly with the knowledge that true friendship transcends all differences.

Picksey didn't see a sofa accessory when we opened the box.  He saw good conversation, and open heart, and a capacity to snuggle.  Though they look quite different, they are inseparable buddies on their journey through life.  And Picksey never longs for a soft spot to rest his head.  Uglypillow is always ready.
May we all be so lucky as to find a true best friend!

No Fly. No Way.

Like so many of our friends, we've decided to opt out of  of air travel.  No radiation, no pat down, no thanks.

So Sidd and Syndey are almost on the road again. Our current plan is Utah. As you can see from the photo, Sydney is one happy Wedgehead.  He loves to see the sites, go eye to eye with people, and taste the regional goodies along the way.

He looks forward to car travel, reading a map, exploring strange roadside exhibits, alien landing sights, combs and tooth brushes 4 times his height, the worlds largest reptile collection, meteor craters, or dinosaur bones.  He wants to visit Wall Drug, and to understand why the Canyon is Grand. Go rock hounding.
This little fellow will not miss air travel one little bit, and neither will I.  But air travel will miss us!

Flatwoodsey FAO Exclusive

Oh wow. An FAO Exclusive Flatwoodsey in RED!  I had no clue this guy was coming.  Thanks to JC on the Ugly forum for letting us know!
I pre-ordered mine today with an estimated ship date of Nov 19th.
He was 24.99 with a bit over 5.00 in shipping plus tax.

This fellow is the Classic Uglydoll size of about 14".  Flatwoodsey tends to be one of the taller Uglys due to his natural candy-drop top.  He often can't squeeze onto a shelf with my other Classic Uglys, so he gets to stand in a more prominent spot and be admired. Height advantage: Flatwoodsey.

Here's the link to order him.

We've been a little under the weather in the Ugly Shire for the last week or more.  Seeing the news that Jrumpy is in the Uglydoll warehouse and nearly ready to begin his journey out in the the world Jrump-started me!  How can you not feel invigorated looking at that face and knowing he will soon be sharing his special, soft Uglydoll essence with families and friends.

Here's one Ugly fan waiting with open arms to welcome our newest Uglydoll.  Jrumpy, your chocolate milk awaits you.  Gallons of it.

Mr. Ree Takes a Trip, Almost

Look who we found out by the mailbox!  It's Mr. Ree. When we asked him what he was doing, he said he was waiting for Cliff, our mailman.  We asked him why.
He said he was going to see Auntie Grace!

But Mr. Ree, she lives so far away.  We would miss you so much.  And it's raining!

After some hugs and candy he agreed to come back to the house and just say Happy Halloween to Auntie Grace via the magic screen.  Happy Halloween!

We think his adventuresome nature may be behind his mysterious arrival in our home.  We're still trying to figure out how and when he came to live with us.
If you ever hear an little scratch and tap at your door, be sure to check for Mr. Ree.
