Choco and Minty's Inner Glow
With all the wind and rain we're having it could have been a dark and dreary day. But Choco and Minty showed us it's what's inside that counts by sharing their inner glow. Our day is brightened. Thank you Choco and Minty!

Choco Nano Bread Recipe
Chef Choco does it again with a tasty and wholesome bread. Next time he plans to go heavier on the tasty and lighter on the wholesome.
Choco Nano Bread Recipe
You'll need:
2 cups Bran Flakes or raison Bran Flakes
1 cup milk
2 cups Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar...Choco plans to put 1 cup sugar next time...more tasty, less wholesome
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 ripe bananas....all mashed up
1 loaf pan
Put the Bran Flakes in a bowl with the milk. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to soften up.
Preheat the oven to 350
Mash up the three bananas with a fork until they are smooth and gooey.
Then mix in the eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, walnuts, and bananas into the bran flakes.
In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and baking powder and mix thoroughly.
Now add that flour mixture to the bran flakes mix. In other words, mix it ALL together!
Pour this Nano batter into a loaf pan. If your pan is non-stick just pour right in. If your pan is NOT non-stick (that would be non non- stick) then grease it first.
Bake at 350 for 54.5 to 60 minutes. Check at 54.5 minutes to make sure it's not getting too brown. If it is...take it out.
Wait a couple of minutes then gently flip the loaf pan over while holding the top of the puffy bread with a cloth towel to keep it from breaking in half. Then put the bread on a cookie rack to cool. If you are not the proud owner of a cookie rack, put it on a towel to cool. The bread will get too moist on the bottom if you cool it on a plate. Go ahead and have a nice, hot piece with butter.
Minty Bee says to mix that butter in some honey and spread it on the bread.

Chef Choco Makes Bread
Chef Choco hasn't cooked in awhile. But repeated chants for banana bread coupled with a cold and windy day were enough to get him back in the kitchen.
What a perfect opportunity to do something fun with his Honey Bee relatives who recently moved in. He was extra careful not to toss in that little Minty Bee instead of a banana.
In about an hour we'll all be sampling Chef Choco's latest creation... Choco Nano Bread. If it's good, we'll post his recipe!

Uglydoll Lunch / Memory / Keepsake Box
I found an online store with the Uglydoll Box in stock! Click here.
I'll add to the list when I find more sources. It's 9.99 and free shipping for orders over 19.95. That's like a lunch box, a series 2 action figure and a clip-on = free shipping!

Mint-wich
I never met an Uglydoll that didn't appreciate a good snack. Minty is no exception. This is one time he was glad Choco was not around. He did save him a candy spot from the cupcake. Now that's a true friend.
Uglydoll Memory Box Where Are You???
Word is out that some stores now have the Uglydoll Memory Box in stock. I'm in the process of prowling the online stores, but nothing so far. If anyone finds one online OR in any local toy shop, please comment and let us know when and where.
As soon as I locate one I'll be right here to tell you.
I can tell you for sure that having a Memory Box will be a boon to me. I can sometimes be very forgetful.
At 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide I can fit a lot of memory in there.

Uglydoll Action Figures 2 Are MINE
I just hit the BUY button on a complete set of Uglydoll Action Figures Series 2. I've been saving especially for this set ever since David Horvath leaked the first tempting hint they were coming. I added the last 30.00 dollars to my money pile yesterday and put them on pre-order today.
Whew. That takes it from "dream" status to "reality" status and spikes the needle on my Ugly Excitement Meter. I don't know exactly when to expect them so I'm enjoying the slight edge of disquiet I get when awaiting something spectacular.
What to do while waiting? Ah, I have that down to a finely tuned ritual.
I chose the complete set PLUS I ordered a couple of singles for friends. Once my friends see them, I'll be placing another order for sure!

What to do while waiting? Ah, I have that down to a finely tuned ritual.
- First, print two photos of the anticipated treasure.
- Affix one pic at eye level near pc monitor
- Glue second pic into my journal for flip reference
- Put out sign to delivery driver to knock loudly
- Email friends with how-to-order info
- Cruise the house for potential display areas
- Plan and purchase shelving if needed
- Play with Series 1 Action Figures
- Get excited at every truck that goes down my sleepy street
- Blog it!

Beamer's Button
We heard a noise about midnight. It was Beamer rummaging through our button collection. They say possession is 9/10th of the law. I think we've lost one of our buttons.
It's all yours Beamer. Enjoy.

More Holdy Than Coldy
Our Coldy Holdy Ice Bat is a very popular guy. It turns out he's more of a Holdy than a Coldy. He likes to go where we're going and do what we're doing. Bike rides, movies, jogging, yard work. He's up for anything, even if that means he's down in the dirt and sand.
Keeping this guy clean was starting to be a problem. Each night we worked on the smudges, hand prints, food bits and other remains of the day. By the next evening we'd have to start all over again. He's just a naturally active and socially gifted guy. There are worse problems to have.
We did, however, find our solution to keeping a clean and collectible Ice Bat.
Meet Keepy Cleany!
He came to us through our friend Justin. Now this handsome Ice Bat likes to sit on a ledge and observe. He's knows he's collectible and likes it that way. Not so much into going and doing, he likes to stay sparkling clean and greet admirers after they've calmed down and their hands are clean.
It's all a matter of finding the right Ice Bat for the job. We're just so happy to have our two stunning boys. In our house, there's a place for everyone!
______________
Ugly History: Coldy Holdy Ice Bat was a FAO limited edition release. He's no longer available on line through FAO, but if you want him you can still find
him on ebay for about 25.00. But get him while
supplies last!

Farewell Uglydoll Adoption Thread
Today we wish a fond farewell to a favorite Forum thread: The Uglydoll Forum Adoptions Thread.
It's a nostalgic ride down memory lane for me as I think of all the cool, amazing, rare, not-so-rare, plush and vinyl Ugliness that passed through that portal to their new homes.
If I were to line up all the Uglydolls end to end that I've adopted through that thread they would stretch from my office all the way to the kitchen and back. When they got back, they would all have pastries and cookies with them.
I have Uglydoll Forum and the Adoption Thread to thank for a parade of Uglydolls that includes:
- Little Ugldolls with misspelled tags (it's a collector thing)
- Hard to find Uma
- Crittebox Set that took me two over two years to assemble.
- 75% of my postcard collection
- Highly prized Wedgehead poster...love it!
- The Vinyl Ice Bat that replaced mine that fell and broke it's wing and my heart. (The Bat that fell later had reconstructive surgery and is back on his shelf 100%!)
- Thawed Ice Bat
- Goodies from shows
- The list goes on! And on! Seriously.
As I look around my home / office I cannot imagine what a colorless spot some corners would be without the Uglydoll Adoption Thread. It leaves me deeply grateful and a little wistful for the passing of an era, the closing of a door to a place I've come to rely on to meet my Ugly needs, or at least air my Ugly dreams.
I feel a bit adrift, not certain of what will come to fill the void, yet full of hope that something will! There is and always will be a unspeakable, magical momentum that carries Uglydolls and those who love them to the best and highest place. I trust it, and wherever that stream is flowing, I am in for the journey.
Thank you to David Horvath, Sun-min Kim, and Pretty Ugly for the Uglydoll Forum!

The Trouble with Kaiju
We have a problem with Kaiju. In our home they all want to stand in the window sill , especially the Uma, the little ones. Their motto is "no Uma left behind" so no matter where we put them, we find them ALL gathered on the one sill. And not just any sill will do. They want the north facing window! They're smart little guys. North windows are the only ones we consider safe. We never let the sun touch the little darlings.

How about a Little Ugly
If you liked the new colors of the 2009 Uglydolls, brace yourself. It's getting better. Little Uglies in the SAME colors are just around the corner. I'll be here with the release info as soon as I get it. I wonder if MORE 2009 Uglydoll colors will make the jump to Little.
Let's see...actually Uglyworm would have to jump the other way. From Little Blue to Bigger Blue. And then Minimum Wage in his redder color could go BIG! Oh, and Little green Abima could Super Size. Anyway, I digress.
I have the 14" Uglydog in the blue, and he's really cool, and REALLY BLUE. No hinting at blue here. He brings the blue to new levels. He's also the perfect companion. Blue in color, never blue in spirit.
