Uglydogs Blue New Year's Eve
This is Bluedog and his friend, Buzzbee. Bluedog is a classic sized Uglydoll Uglydog, not to be confused with a bluedog democrat.
This New Year's Eve Bluedog is planning his Blue Moon New Year's Eve gathering to ring in the new year and to celebrate the Blue Moon that occurs on New Year's Eve only once every 19 years. His next Blue Moon party is scheduled for New Year's in 2028. And you're invited!
Mrs. Kasoogi tells him the moon will not be blue, but rather is the second full moon in a month. Bluedog doesn't care. He's knows blue can strike where you least expect it.
If the moons not blue, he won't be disappointed because he will be with his friends and family and plans to shine so bright blue himself that no one will miss the moon.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to All Our Friends!
---------------------------
If you would like to adopt your own Blue Uglydog, head on over to the Offical Uglydoll store link on the sidebar of this blog. There's a sweet fellow waiting there for you.

New Uglies for the Holidays
We began celebrating our Holiday's on Solstice and continued right through Christmas Day. Midnight is near and before we say goodbye to Christmas 2009 we wanted to say Happy Holiday's and Merry New Year to all our Uglydoll friends and family.
We welcomed a lovely new group of Uglydolls into our ever-expanding happy family. Pictured here from left to right are Wedgehead "Nevada Cat", Little Blue Ox, Suntan Target, Two Foot Fea Bea, Green Pointy Max "Chris", and Plunko "Sunny".
In front of Suntan Target is a set of Uma Series 5 from Giant Robot that I've been wanting for months, and I was fortunate to receive for Christmas!
The biggest surprise in this group was Green Pointy Max. Receiving him was one of the highlights of my life. . He was on my front porch when I came home inside a box inside a big white Santa-style bag. When I opened it and saw that face I was filled with joy.
He is an expression of the generosity and kindness of those who gave him to me, and one that I will treasure always.
This was the best Solstice / Christmas I've ever had, and Green Pointy Max helped push it over the top. You know, I think I'll go hug him now!
----------------------------------------
Want your own? All of these amazing goodies are available, or soon will be. Check Giant Robot for the Uma and also for Uglydoll plush. Of course the Official Uglydoll Store has all the current Uglydoll lineup. If you want Uma, I suggest a purchase sooner than later. They've been around awhile and could disappear from the shelves any day now.

Comet Debris Lucky Bags are up!
If you are familiar with the creative powers of Koji Harmon you will be excited to see he has his 2010 Lucky Bags up on his CometDebris website. His Lucky Bags are not just Lucky, but are also a mystery. Meaning: you don't know exactly what you are getting. In these bags you might get Tokoji Seijin or Tokoichi Seiju, along with other goodies from Koji. You are certain to get a high quality, limited edition, custom painted figure from Koji, and that's double luck to me. Go grab one soon. They won't last long.

Uglydoll Solstice Fun
Many of you will recognize our Dr. Max Abima in his clever Holiday disguise. He delights in making people smile. For Solstice he accomplished that goal in the local Starbucks. Who could look at that face and not feel the love?
Always the fashionable Ugly, he wore a nice set of Gama-Go buttons.
After meet and greets at Starbucks, we all headed to downtown Olympia to visit our local toy shop, Wind Up Here. We planned to browse and hug our way through the piles of Uglydolls and perhaps add to our family.
Mission accomplished: Meet Plunko.
We did adopt, but it didn't go exactly as we'd imagined. Plunko here was the ONLY Classic sized Uglydoll left in Olympia. He caught my eye through the big picture window in the storefront, and had me at hello. I adore him, and feel so very grateful to have found him. He immediately offered to help me set up an online business in my spare time, so this guy is a go-getter. I could use a little more getter in my go.
The staff at the toy store were so kind and helpful and made us feel welcome They even wound up robots for us to enjoy. One employee was especially fond of Uglies and had a handmade name tag with Uglydoll pics on it.
Our Little Wedgehead "Jammer" jumped into Dr. Max's bag when we left the house. Max proudly showed him off to everyone.
One of the highlights of our day was watching the expression on people's faces as they looked over the few remaining Uglydolls at Wind Up Here. Their eyes would go all dreamy, they'd sigh and smile, or laugh. We saw two Little Uglies get adopted as we waited, a Little Trucko and Little Wage. Uglies just warm the heart.
I was impressed with those nifty metal robots in the store. They wind up and walk. One called Chief Robot has a light that flickers in his chest while he walks. I foresee a metal robot collection in Dr. Max's future to go along with his button collection and Steven the Bat collection and.......
Happy Solstice Everyone!

Ket is here!
A package arrived from The Official Uglydoll Store. Ket popped out with a twinkle in his eye and a hug for everyone.
David said this is one of the earliest Ugly designs, and is one of Sun-Min and David's favorites.
This little guy reminds me of a fluffy piece of toast with banana ears. And hugable? Oh yes. He fits snuggly in your arms, and has ears like handles that fit perfectly in your hands. He arrived a bit flat, but a little fluffing is all it took for him to puff into a lovable softy pal.
David Horvath describes him as a guy who KNOWS clothing saying, "He IS fashion". But being super indecisive, he arrived without an outfit to his name. No prob. He came to the right place. We have some VERY decisive Uglydolls who can take his fashionable ideas and craft the wardrobe of his dreams. Then tell him which one to wear! Perfecto.
About Ket: He is a Kitson Exclusive Uglydoll, meaning....get him at Kitson while you can! Also available at Uglydoll Store. Only in classic 14" size for 20.00.

Mystery Ice-Bat Spotted: Coldy Holdy
Uglyverse Ice-Bat spotted: Nov 18, 2009
If you collect Uglydolls you know the fun never stops. Tonight I discovered a photo of this handsome Ice-Bat thanks to a cleverly placed pic by Uglydoll creator David Horvath.
Did an immediate happy dance and started calling around. How I love an Ugly mystery!
So far the clues add up to a new special release Uglyverse Ice-Bat. Yes, blue with one red eye and one pick eye!
Classic size. So far I've only found them at FAO NY, and not yet on FAO online store.
UPDATE Nov 19, 2009.....These are Coldy Holdy FAO Ice-Bat exclusives and will be for sale on their online store next week! If you make a 50.00 purchase you will get 10.00 shipping! Don't despair that the online store doesn't know about them yet. They will! Thanks for the info, David! David's blog has some even better details. Check it!

Waffles Goes Shopping
Waffles charmed his way through Starbucks today on his way shopping. He volunteered to buy the Holiday fabrics and notions for our family of Wage's. This was no small task as we have a large family! The lines were long at the fabric store, but as well as being stuffed with love and charm, Waffles is also brimming with patience.
He enjoyed looking into the eyes of all the customers looking into his eyes. He found them as interesting as they found him. They liked him very much, and the feeling was mutual.
He laughed when we said, "He's an Uglydoll", to which many repied, "He's not Ugly at all. I think he's cute". Sometimes it's hard to explain Ugly!
Waffles hopes you will check back in to see the colorful materials and bangles transform into this years Holiday attire for he and his Wage brothers.
Waffles Bio: Waffles arrived with a group of refugee Uglydolls who had seen the tougher side of life. Waffles was missing his apron AND his MOUTH! Having been mauled by a dog, he was grimy and sad. We went to work at once to clean him up, and scheduled him in for surgery with our esteemed Dr. Max Abima. Dr. Max did a masterful job on reconstructing his mouth. Having a mouth, a new apron, and being freshly cleaned did a lot to lift his spirits. Waffles was soon on his feet again and enjoying life to the fullest. He is cherished, and in his forever home.

Out of the BLUE...New UGLYDOLL Ket LE
Out of the blue...and into the PINK! I didn't see this one coming. What a wonderful surprise from David and Sun-Min. This is a Kitson l limited edition Uglydoll named Ket. He is available for a short time from Kitson. Also available in limited quantities from the Official Uglydoll Store.
I first saw Ket as part of the line-up at David and Dehara Have Mono show in Tokyo. (No, I wasn't there in person) Those were all handmade versions that were rare, expensive, and hard to get. But now we have the pink Ket, who is a modest 20.00 and cute as a bucket of pink, shiny buttons with Ugly faces on them. Cute!
It looks like the tag indicates it is a Kitson Limited Edition, making it all the more fun for collectors such as myself.
This is the kind of November surprise that makes me smile! The Uglydoll creators have a way of spreading sunshine that just amazes me.

My Friend Dave x 4
Meet My Friend Dave and his friends, Dave, Dave and Dave.
These fabulous guys are new figures from Uglydoll creators David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. He stands about 5 inches high, and has spikes all along his back.
You might think the best thing about these guys is their undeniable good looks. But consider their personality described in this quote from the insert that comes in a DAVE package.
"MY FRIEND DAVE means we may sometimes feel so lonely but we are never alone because we are ALL ONE! Because we all parts of one whole, so is this gift to you. While Sun-Min and David created him, T9G sculpted him, and INTHEYELLOW produced him, bringing him to life is up to you. When you join in and show us what you've got, we all come alive together. Always feel brave! Like Dave."
The yellow and black figures are "blanks", meaning they are the under-color yet to be adorned. The green Dave is a limited edition from the Giant Robot Biennale. The pink fellow is from Design Festa in Tokyo, Oct 2009. Also a limited edition.
Coming up in January 2010 we will welcome two custom Dave's into our family AND a Monster custom by Sun-Min. Pics coming soon.

Wage Cakes
What's better than coffee and classic coffee cake? Enjoying it with our good friend, Mr. Wade Wage. He is our best friend, and always draws smiles our way.
When we first met Wade, he was missing his apron, down on his luck and lost, but he was never defeated. His inner compass brought him right to our home where we made him a new wardrobe (apron) and adorned him with service medals.
He knows he has a home for life, but keeps a couple of quarters taped under his apron, in case he needs to call home. Maybe we should just get him a cell phone.

Pointy Max and Friends
We are delighted to welcome Pointy Max to our Uglydoll family. He is sweet, handsome, points the way to great adventures, tasty snacks, and good times. He is a handmade Uglydoll designed by David Horvath and made by Sun-Min Kim.

Twas the Night Before Ugly
This week is like the night before Christmas for many devoted Uglydoll collectors. Each day we are anticipating the arrival of our newly adopted handmade Uglydolls. Other collectors await their limited edition and custom Kaiju and original David Horvath drawings.
I rarely leave the house during postal hours for fear that special parcel will arrive and I will not be here to sign for it and greet my new adoptee. This may sound like a pain, bur really it's a pleasure to wait, wonder, and feel that exhileration when the postal truck pulls up. If not today, maybe tomorrow.
Every new Uglydoll arrival is an event. But a handmade Uglydoll is the Main Event, the whole enchilada. David Horvath tells us this group of handmades is the last. So this arrival is especially sweet and dear. It will be a strange new world without handmade Uglydolls to look forward to. But David and Sun-Min have never made a wrong or bad decision concerning Uglydolls and their fans, so I trust where they are going and follow happily along. The news of the end of handmades has made the few I have all the more precious to me.
To see the object of my affection cast your eyes up to the photo. See the pointy-headed red fellow at the right of the photo? That's him. That's my Pointy Max. Is he not a dreamboat?
Moving from right to left: Pointy Max red, Big Toe, Cozy Monster blue, Batty Shogun pinkish, Pointy Max blue (brother to my Pointy), Batty Shogun red, Cozy Monster green, and half of Cozy Monster orange.
Not pictured are Ket, and all the other Uglydolls in the Mono colors.
Where is all this highly anticipated Ugliness coming from? Dehara and David Have Mono art show at Stitch in Tokyo.
It is unconfirmed, but likely that many of these new handmade Uglydoll styles will make their way into the retail Uglydoll line-up, but in other colors. That would be cool for you and for me. I would dearly love to have one of each. But money and fairness prevented me from having more than one. We were limited to the purchase of one handmade Uglydoll per person. And no, it wasn't too hard to pick just one. It was love at first sight with Pointy Max. OK, it was kinda hard. I wanted MORE! I admit. But I'm happy happy happy.
Please come tomorrow, Pointy Max!

Winkolina and the Bees
Today our little Winkie went on a bike ride with us. She and her pal Cinko road on the handlebars. Suddenly we noticed BEES. And more bees. Instinctively we peddled faster, but the bees stayed with us. And all the bees were buzzing around Winkolina. They paid no attention at all to Cinko or the rest of us. The faster we road, the faster the bees flew in their effort to stay with Winkie. Finally we went so far and so fast we lost them. Winkie was unharmed and is still talking about it. She is the bees knees.

Grass Hut
Grass Hut. Oh yeah! It was an amazing show. Meeting Bwana Spoons, Le Merde, and Scrappers was so much fun. They are all very kind and cool people. And talent too! And beards. Hum, maybe I should grow one.
Dr. Max Abima is now a patron of the arts.
Stay tuned for more pics and greater detail of our trip.

Grass Hut Here I Come
Dr. Max Abima is on his way to Grass Hut in Portland, OR for the opening of their art show .
He's so very excited to see all the new creations from some of his favorite artist. Maybe he'll get to meet Bwana Spoons, or Le Merde! Or both! He may even pick up a custom. He's been saving.
Korean Customs is on his bad side for holding up all the Horvath art and making the show start without it. And you don't want to stay on Dr. Max's bad side.

Horvath interview: Did ya miss it?
Did the David Horvath interview with Bill Handel sneak up on you and you missed it?
No problem. Thanks to a link provided by our friend, Hch, you get another chance.
Click here and you can have a listen. David is right about in the middle of the clip. You can forward to him if you let it buffer a little.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Happy Snack Day
On Snack Day Little Red Tooth Wedgehead was apple of everyone's eye today. Or should I say muffin. The snack was so large everyone got a piece and came back for seconds. Our two Babo's agreed to share the cream cheese center. Everyone went away stuffed and happy and wishing David had made another Nap Day for tomorrow.
The question now on all their minds is.... how many more days till the next SNACK DAY. Boy those Uglydolls can eat. And me too!
HAPPY SNACK DAY EVERONE!

Ice Bat's Ice Alert System
Ice Bat has invented a tool he feels every Ice Bat will love. It's his Ice Alert. This multi-purpose tool can be used like a compass to help you locate ice anywhere, anytime. Plus it's an essential alert system to let you know when the ice supply is low or melting. The built-in ice monitor effortlessly reorders ice supplies when needed using wireless technology. Never run out of ice again. Doubles as a cd player so you can chill to your favorite tunes. Plus is has a secret bonus capability, but Ice Bat isn't telling.
What a clever Ice Bat.

Wage Portrait
Our family of Wage's got together today to discuss the menu and games for Official Snack Day, September 2. It's hard to get a busy bunch to stand still for a portrait, but I seized the opportunity and snapped this one.
What a happy group of Uglydolls!
Last time I checked in on them, they were hoping to get a peak at the 2010 Uglydoll Calendar and holiday dates. I think they were hoping for more Snack Days.

Abima Goes To Mars
Dr. Max Abima is going to Mars. Well, almost. His NAME is going to Mars! And he is one proud Uglydoll. In 2011 a microchip bearing his name will be launched by NASA on their Mars Rover. There on the Red Planet his name will remain until some visitor far in the future finds that chip. And who knows. Maybe that visitor will carry his name out into the far reaches of space. Perhaps they'll name one of their space ships after him, or even a planet! The planet Abima! The spaceship Max Abima. Kinda has a ring to it.
Close-up of his Official NASA Certificate.

I'm all hung up on Uglydoll Hangers
I'm SO excited by the new Uglydoll Hangers for cell phones etc, that I grabbed this pic of some prototypes off Uglyblog.
Look at that! Holy Tiny Uglydoll! Incredible.
NOW my friends with those sleek, antenna-less phones will not be snickering so hard at my LG 8300! Well, maybe they'll still be laughing, but hopefully it will be at my Uglydoll hanger and NOT my phone.
Official word is that they will be available for purchase in October! Yep, this year. I've already saved the money, and I'm ready to buy one of each.
Is there anything more fun than collecting Uglydolls? I don't think so.

The Origin of Uglydolls
Click here to read the best article in the I've ever seen on the origins of Uglydoll. It's a story worth reading. This LA Times article shares the endearing story of David Horvath and his wife, Sun-Min Kim, and the birth of Wage the first Uglydoll. It's a truly inspirational story of a dream that grew despite the odds into the Uglyverse we love today.
The article also features the experience of fans and collectors, without whom there would be no Uglydoll company.
So this is it. The greatest toy story ever told.
Really?
Maybe!
Who's that? It's Plunko, Fea Bea, Deer Ugly, First Mate Trunko, Big Toe, Moxy. Oh....and DAVID!
Such a great photo.

Small Packages = Good Things
There is a saying, "Good things come in small packages".
Saying tested and verified. VERY good things come in small pages.
In this case it's Uglydoll Turny Burny. I admit I was concerned for the well-being of his amazing ears. Not to mention the rest of him. It looked like a mighty tight squeeze to me. But the ole Ugly magic was with him and he puffed right up to be one of the biggest standard sized Uglydolls I've ever seen.
In fact, I've been thinking all the new 2009 Uglydolls are on the hefty side. Not a complaint in the least. Merely an observation. They're wider, taller, and seem to have hit the cookie jackpot, twice. Finally, a doll that looks like ME. Well, I'm not so tall...but the rest of it fits.
Coming tomorrow: The flip side of Turny Burny.
Coming up soon: The Big Kahuna of Uglydom....the new First Mate Trunko. Now that's a substantial Ugly.
Also coming: Tracking down the elusive Uglydoll Zipper Pulls. Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi investigate.
_____________
Very good news if you want your own small box of big fun. Turny Burny is a retail release, and widely available for adoption. Google Turny Burny, or contact a local toy shop. You can also adopt him in four sizes! All four! Or in black and white. Or both. That's eight! You can get one just like mine for a mere 20.00. He'd spend it on you!
Check the Official Uglydoll Store linked down the side of my blog.

Arrivals at the Uglydoll Clinic
When we saw this sad group of Ugly refugees, we pooled our cookie money and adopted them.
Old Cinko, Wage and Babo had their mouths ripped off. It was said to be a dog that did it. Ice Bat fought the dog off but was left with a sad frown. Wedgie stood on his head and the dog left him unharmed and went away.
When this mute little group arrived, we'd never treated this type of Ugly injury before. We researched different types of material for mouths and various kinds of glue to attach them. We had the emergency supplies assembled and waiting for them.
We bought several yards of anything we could find that might serve as a mouth. Nothing looked just like the original mouths, but these guys needed something immediately. So we worked with what we could find in our smallish town.
The glue was even trickier than the mouth material. We bought 3 or 4 kinds of fabric glue. After some hugs, our Winged Abima lulled them to sleep with a song and we went to work on the sleeping Uglies. We surface washed the dirt and goo off. Then gently, tenderly attached new mouths.
When the mouths dried, they looked pretty good, but to the touch, they feel stiff.
When the Uglies awoke, they were chattering and singing with joy. Babo used his new mouth to eat an entire package of Mother's Iced Oatmeal cookies with Molasses. I can't even imagine being Babo without a mouth. It makes me cry.
We didn't hear one bit of complaint out of our darling patients about the work we did.
And here they are today, safe and loved.

Someday I would like to find better material, and much better glue for our Uglydoll Clinic. These mouths are a bit too thick, and the glue left them much too stiff. We will do new surgery if we ever find the right supplies. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. These will certainly not be the last Uglydolls we rescue from harms way.
And here they are today, safe and loved.

Happy Hat Day
Uglydoll Calendars shows August 1st is Hat Day, so the Uglydolls dug into the closets and searched under the beds for their favorite hats.
After the important activities of eating, nibbling, sipping juice, and dessert, I was able to gather them all up for a group photo.
Here they are, wishing you all the Happiest of Hat Days, and many more. More days and more hats!

Ready, Set, Go for Pink Babo
He's pure pink. Like candy, but better. And I would give all my candy to have him.
In just 12 hours from now, 20 of these delights will blow out of the Giant Robot booth at San Diego Comic Con. There will be no more. Only 20 ever made. He will live on the shelves of the select and lucky few. And he will live in my dreams.
In case you missed the announcement: Sunday, July26. SDCC Giant Robot Booth. 11:00 am.

First Mate Trunko almost on board
I'm so excited I can barely type. First Mate Trunko is nearly on board, along with his luggage. Let's see. What will he have in his duffel bag?
- A complete set of the new Uglydoll Glow in the Dark Ice Bats. These are the new 3 inchers just released at SDCC.
- An additional blind box GID Ice Bat for my sweet friend.
- New Uglydoll totes. Whoo hoo!
- Uglydoll postcard from SDCC with drawing of First Mate Trunko, signed by David Horvath. It says, "To Sidd". Insert big, dreamy sigh.
SDCC must be a most amazing adventure. And one I surely hope to make myself someday. This year my gratitude goes out to Dean, for making it possible for me to anticipate this wonderful package. It helps to have friends in Ugly places!

Notes: First Mate Trunko. Yep, he has wings. As far as I know, he is a limited edition of 500. They are already popping up on ebay. I will post when I find other sources if they do not all sell at SDCC. I suspect Giant Robot will get some.
Notes: Glow in the Dark Ice Bats. Released at SDCC, however, they will be available from selected retailers per David Horvath's blog. Will post a list when I find out. Also already on ebay, but hold out for retail if you can. It will be a better deal. If you buy a box of 6, you will get one of each color. There is no chase item in the set.

Ice Bat Shock and Awe
Opening a box of new adoptees is always a new experience. No two Uglydoll's are alike. Usually there's the first lovely moments of squeezing and cooing. Then the collectors eye takes over for the closer inspection and appreciation.
But seeing our newest Ice Bat was a shocker. I mean, LOOK at those teeth. My mind scurried for an explanation.
The only teeth I'd ever seen sorta like these were on a handmade Ice Bat sewn by Sun-Min Kim. Could it be? That would be the BEST possible luck I've ever had. I don't usually win anything. I have the Uglies I have by numerous means, none of it luck.
My heart didn't have time to leap before my hand touched the hang tag and I knew it wasn't a handmade. They don't come with tush tags or hang tags. They have what I call the umbilical loop. That's a little loop of thread Sun-Min puts on them for display.
So what then? A fake? I hugged the poor thing and told him IF he was a zombie (a fake Uglydoll) I would still love and care for him. But man, if that's a fake, we all said, that's a REALLY good one. Great stitching, cute as a button, and perfect tags.
The suspense was heavy when I snapped a picture and sent it off to Uglydoll creator, David Horvath. He very kindly transformed our angst into joy by telling us that only a few of this style Ice Bat were produced, and that our boy is "pretty rare". Now if you are a collector, you know the emotion those words produce. Our family danced with joy, then sat staring in AWE at our new family member.
We also sent a pic to our Ugly friend Dean. He is one of the only other people I know who could shed light on this stranger. He said he'd seen one like this some years ago at FAO Schwartz. So with this piece to the puzzle, we think we probably lucked into one of those. (Thanks Dean !)
Yes, LUCK finally visited ME. And not just random luck, but personally tailored to me kind of luck. It is a sweet feeling indeed. I'm grateful for the visit, luck. Come any time!

Upcoming post: Our Ugly family spent the week of Ugly Independence Day, July 8th, on a fact finding mission as to the origins of Ugly Independence Day. What came before Ugly Independence? Our expedition was lead by Mr. and Mrs. Kasoogi. So check back soon to find what we discovered!

What a Croc!
Our hats are off to Crocadoca. He's handsome. He's debonair. He wears a fedora, and hangs out with the way cool Bossy Bear and Turtle. What more could you ask for?
Well, just look at that face. Now, imagine it.....glowing.
Don't strain your brain. Instead, click here.
Wowzer. Right?
That's a pic from Uglyblog. Those lovelies are limited edition Glow in the Dark Crocadoca's that will be available at the Toy Tokyo Booth at SDCC on Saturday from noon to 1pm, during David Horvaths signing session.
Got a fav? I'm liking the blue on blue version.
Want one? Me too. If I get any other info on the whereabouts of these fellows following SDCC, I'll post it here pronto. I'm thinking ebay fore sure. Hopefully there'll be a few left for retail release. We shall see.

Chuckanucka's Journey
This is our Chuck. He knows how to have fun. Can you tell?
His latest plan was to journey to the center of the Earth. We explained that would cost all of his savings and take so long he would miss Ugly Independence Day on July 8. So he opted for a free DVD copy of Journey to the Center of the Earth, along with 4 excellent pair of 3-D glasses from our local library.
Not all our Uglydolls wanted to go to the center of the earth, even if they could do it from the sofa. But of course, we a had a few takers.
Ice Bat liked the deep, cold caves but stayed away from the molten core.
Wedgehead thought the mining car ride was the most exciting. Like a roller coaster!
And Chuck? He just liked hanging with his friends. There's no place like home.
Who got the 4th pair of 3-D glasses, you must be wondering. I did.

Make way for Uppy
Uppy is part of the new Uglydoll line-up for 2009. And he's in Pre-order status. That's code for, get ready, make space, here he comes!
His color reminds me of the delicious berry color of one of the six Ox's that are out for Year of the Ox. (A post is coming on those guys soon.)
I love those ears. Kinda moose-like. Yet very feathery. His upward hands tell me he's happy, eager, and as excited to see me as I am to see him.
Uppy is a avowed optimist. He and I will definitely get along.
Here's David Horvath's description of Uppy's personality:
"You'll never meet anyone more optimistic than Uppy. He's super positive!
He's positive that the snack you have in your hand belongs to him, and
that your bank account should be in his name, not yours. Uppy is sure of
things. He's sure that you guys would make the perfect team, and that your
team should make it's way down to the bakery to order something really super
delicious. You handle the money part and Uppy is sure he can do all the eating.
No worries."
He'll be available in all four Uglydoll sizes from clip-on all the way up to 2 feet! Click the Official Uglydoll Store link on the right of this blog to go straight to the source.

Sailor Trunko??
News Flash! David just said "Sailor Trunko" on his Twitter. That's it. That's all he said. Take from it what you may. But, WOWZER.
There WILL be a plush released at SDCC. So 2 + 2= Sailor Trunko.
David wrote that his is his favorite limited edition plush so far. It's a must have in my book.
Second News Flash. Uglydoll zipper pulls will be released in the US after the Singapore Comic Convention in August. These can also be used as cell phone toys if you have a phone with the little external antenna. As Gato Deluxe says on Uglyblog, "Only works with cool phones". I have a cool phone. And you thought those Blackberries were cool.
I am already scoping all the places I can hang these.
Check the Uglyblog: http://davidhorvath.blogspot.com/

Uglydoll Intrigue: SDCC 2009
I just grabbed this off David Horvath's Uglyblog. His blog entry is an ever so intriguing sneak look at things to come from San Diego Comic Con 2009. Are they plush? Are they vinyl? Are they cookie dough? How about Rubber? Balloons? Are they floating and flying? Big? Small?
Is it a photographers trick? What IS that unusual texture? It doesn't look like traditional Ugly plush.
Our friend Purpgee thinks these may be people inside Ugly costumes. Maybe!
Just when I thought I could relax, David posts more pictures on his blog. There is no rest for the Uglydoll fan! Whoopee. I love it that way.

Mystery Special Delivery Part 4
Ahhh. Postmaster Hunphrey Wedgie is happy to see that our new arrival is a happy and friendly Uglydog.
Wedgehead White Cat (on left) is trying to comprehend how a 12" Uglydog can fit in a 3 " shipping box.
We think Pink Uglydog knew all along.
We named the new fellow Houdini, for obvious reasons. Harry for short.
We love you, Harry H Uglydog.

Mystery Special Delivery Part 3
Wedgehead White Cat decides to lend a hand and give the new guy tug. Postmaster Humphrey Wedgie is still somewhat stunned.
It just keeps coming. And did we say...3 inch box?

Mystery Special Delivery Part 2
As you can see from the prior post, we had a mystery special delivery box. There's been some recent movement. Our Postmaster Humphrey Wedgie, pictured on the right, is clearly concerned.
Our new guy on left, Wedgehead White Cat, is simply mezmerized. Whatever could be coming out of a 3 inch high box?
We don't know what our Uglydog is thinking.
Check back soon. Will keep you posted as updates develop.

We have a new White Cat...Sorta
The Uglydoll Wedgehead on the left is our newest family member. He kinda snuck up on us, so he didn't have a welcome comittee. In true Ugly style, these two cuties stepped up to say hello.
The first thing out of the new guys mouth was "White Cat". When we asked his name, White Cat. Well, ok. That's fine with us. White Cat is it.
All our Uglies head right over to the Ugly Clinic where our Dr. Max Abima gives them a thorough exam. (He has the hands of a surgeon). There we fluff and clean, snip and sew as needed. For our new fellow, we began plucking white cat hairs off his body. We know there is a story there. But we also know not to ask.
Welcome Wedgie White Cat.
Pictured left to right" Wedgehead White Cat, Uglydog, and Wedgie Humphrey, who runs our home post office and message center. At a nickel per service, he is quite a bargain.
If you would like a similar package to arrive at your door, click here to be taken to the Official Uglydoll Store. Or google Wedgehead Uglydoll. Or check your local toy store. He may be waiting for you!

Boatload of Bony's
This boatload of Littlebony's is excited. Why? Because some Bony relatives are coming. In a few days, we'll have more Bony's. And there's nothing better than MORE Littlebony's.
These Little guys are the smallest in the Bony line-up. But they have all the personality of their much bigger brothers.
Japan must be a really fun place, because they have the coolest crane prizes, kaiju, robots, and toys in general. These Littlebony's were crane prizes or capsule toys. Imagine putting in your money, lowering the crane boom, and coming out with one of these. Where I live we never get anything great like this from a crane game. Sigh.
Plus, Japan has the animated Littlebony show. But not here in the USA. Double sigh. Due to this deficite in material, I don't know all I'd like to know about Littlebony. I do know he's another creation from David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. He's part of a show that is about the body and movement. He's cute to the tenth power.
The Bony offerings in Japan are vast. There are Littlebony bento boxes, cups, forks, keychains, (click for pic) plush toys in several sizes, books, and the list goes on. I saw a photo of a retail stop in Tokyo stuffed with Littlebony's. My eye nearly popped out.
Check back soon for the arrival pics of the new Littlebony's joining our family. There's even a Little Pinky, and she is.... PINK!
Are you now saying, I gotta have me some Bony's? If so, your work is cut out for you, unless you live in Japan. I think part of the joy of collecting is the waiting and watching for hard to find items. So get ready for some BIG joy. You'll need to watch eBay. If you belong to a toy collectors forum, you might pick some of from boardies. It's a waiting game where patience pays off. If this sounds like too much trouble and you decide to fly to Japan for the Bony's, email me! I have my wish list ready to go.
OR, you can click over to Giant Robot where they still have a very limited selection if Littlebony's in stock. Grab one while you can.
